You would like to order sustainable printed labels made of organic cotton, but are not sure which type to choose. When you order printed organic cotton labels, you can choose between 2 different options; labels with woven-edges or labels with slit-edges. But what does that actually mean? What is the difference? To make that clear, we have written a useful guide in which we explain the most important characteristics.

Printed organic cotton labels with woven edges

Labels with woven edges, as the name suggests, have woven edges. These labels are woven in separate ribbons at the right width, so the edges are immediately woven and do not fray.

Labels with woven edges have a luxurious look and feel a bit firmer and thicker. These labels do not have GOTS certification. Labels with weave edges are available in strap widths of 15mm, 25mm and 40mm. 

Printed organic cotton labels with cut edges

With labels with cut edges, the labels are woven as a wide cloth, then the labels are cut fray-free into strips. These labels are GOTS certified and are available in web widths of 10,15,20,25,35,50 and 70mm. The GOTS certificate (Global Organic Textile Standard) guarantees that the textile fibers come from organic farming and that textile processing is done in a socially responsible manner.
